How to avoid cyber-bullying?

Teenagers enjoys connecting with their friends through facebook and twitter.These social network offer them a platform to interact with each other more easily. Personal information are posted online so that people can know you more quickly.Nevertheless, as one is open to internet, one is also open to cyber-bullying.

Why some people like to bully others online

As far as I am concern,many bullies do not care about the consequences when they are bullying others online.They find it interesting to send aggressive words to people they dislike.Even more,some of the bullies are also victims of cyber-bullying.They want others to feel their pain and become decadent as victims. There are so many reasons why some people like to bully others online.It can come from many aspects from our society.However, what is more important is to know how to avoid cyber-bullying

Some useful tips

1.Never post your personal information

This includes your name, address, phone number, school name, passwords, and any other information that can be used to try and contact you offline. This rule also applies to the personal information of others. You do not have the right to post someone else´s personal information. It is considered as criminal offence if you do. 

Personal information also includes photographs. If you post pictures of yourself, make sure your photo is absolutely secure and can only be viewed by people you know. Before posting photos of someone else it is best to ask their permission first. 

2.Don´t respond to an angry message with anger

Many people would be angry and scold in return when they are being cyber-bullied.  A reaction like thisis exactly what a cyberbully is looking for. He takes relish in controlling the victim through fear and anxiety.The wise thing to do is ignoring them.

3.Don´t post anything that is very private

If you want to share something private, it is best to talk to the person face to face or on the phone. Messages can be accidentally sent to the wrong person and then be used by cyberbullies to harass you. If you are not willing to allow others to see it or read it, then don´t post it. Internet allows others to read your e-mails at any times.
